Buffalo Beetles (adult lesser mealworms)
The Lesser Mealworm or Buffalo Beetle (Alphitobius diaperinus) can be used as a cleaner crew or feeder for small reptiles. The larva are 5-10mm in length when fully grown.
Unlike regular mealworms they have a soft outer shell that is easily digestible. These worms stay alive at room temperature. Keep these beetles in Wheat Bran and feed them fruits and vegetables for a water source. When added to a Dubia Roach colony they help recycle the Dubia frass and uneaten fruit to help keep the colony clean and healthy. I recommend adding Buffalo Beetles and Dermestid Beetles to all Dubia colonies.
Shipments will contain mostly beetles but can have some larva mixed in.
